Intercommunity Action, Inc. is currently seeking a Development Director to oversee, develop, and manage our fundraising initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing our agency’s fundraising campaigns, communicating with current and prospective donors, and building a stronger development team for our organization. This position involves managing individual and corporate gifts as well as foundation grants and annual giving campaigns. a. Serves as primary liaison with the funding community, including foundations, businesses, community groups and individuals, and as staff liaison to the Resource Development Committee of the Board of Directors.
b. Plans, and with the approval of the Executive Director and Board of Directors, directs the implementation of agency fundraising activities, working with the Board and appropriate staff
c. Works with key staff to identify funding needs, and identifies potential funding sources. Solicits and incorporates input from appropriate staff to develop proposals, writing proposals in compliance with agency guidelines.
d. Develops and administers agency Annual Campaign.
e. Develop and oversee our annual fundraising program, including the annual appeal.
f. Identify prospective individual and corporate donors and develop strategies to cultivate those relationships.
g. Maintains ongoing communications with donors.
h. Research potential foundation donors and write grant proposals.
i. Ensure timely and accurate report deliveries to funders.
j. Maintains fundraising database and appropriate reports and documents.
k. Planning of fundraising events, including the agency’s 50th Anniversary Gala.
l. Write and develop marketing materials, including the annual report, brochures, and other fundraising materials.
g. Plans, directs, coordinates and implements capital campaigns.
2. Public Relations
a. Plans, coordinates and produces Agency Annual Report.
b. Maintains flow of information and other public relations material to the community, and functions as clearinghouse for all agency-disseminated advertising, marketing and public relations activities and material.
c. Attends civic association and other community groups’ and organization meetings as representative of the Executive Director.
d. Plans and coordinates the annual Volunteer Reception and similar events.
3. Other Duties
a. Performs other duties and undertakes special projects as assigned by the Executive Director.
b. Adhere to safe work practices.
1. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s Preferred), plus five years substantive experience in fundraising and public relations.
2. Superior writing and verbal skills.
3. Computer literacy and familiarity with DonorPerfect or a similar fundraising database.
4. Foundation relationship and grant writing experience.
5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
6. Experience fundraising for behavioral health organizations (preferred)
