Ways to Volunteer

Volunteering: Do Good, Feel Great.

Community-based resources like Journey’s Way make the world a better place. We are delighted to have civic-minded volunteers of all ages join us in making that difference.  We offer a variety of enriching volunteer possibilities which includes, but is not limited to:

  • Phone Buddy
  • Program Developer
  • Class Instructor
  • Youth Tutor
  • Publicity Coordinator
  • Discussion Facilitator

Alongside the direct-service volunteering in our center are “Neighbor to Neighbor” opportunities to help older adults in their homes in a variety of ways, from rides to chores to simply “friendly visits.”

Knowing that people have different talents, schedules and goals, we will work with you to design a position that suits you. Then, we will provide training, supervision, two-way feedback, and plenty of appreciation. Along the way, be assured that you will gain friends, experience, and a deeper appreciation of life’s journeys.

To apply to be one of our volunteers, please open and complete the application form.

Once you submit the application, Karen Rouse will contact you to continue the process. Also, you can reach Karen directly at 215-487-1750, ext. 1007, or krouse@intercommunityaction.org. We are delighted to hear from you and answer any questions.
