Employment Support

Interact’s Community Integrated Employment program was started in 1990. We provide services to people diagnosed with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities who are referred to us by supports coordinators, the county office, the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, family members, schools, primary care givers, and self-referrals. Consumers range in age from 21 to 50+. We have an average 85% success rate in placing individuals in jobs of interest. Some examples include food service, janitorial, stock, clerk, and housekeeping.

Our goal is to provide quality services by offering and training individuals on a one-to-one basis for meaningful, skillful, and competitively-paid jobs in the community. A vocational profile is done so that each individual will be trained according to their needs and will be given the opportunity to choose the type of job they are interested in. We also provide community-based work assessment, job development, job analysis, job placement, on-the-job training, travel training, and long-term follow-along services.

For more information about our employment services, please call (215) 487-3380.
