A Message from the Director,
Journey’s Way, Resources & Programs for People 55+, is proud to celebrate Older American’s Month. Throughout the month of May, there will be many opportunities for the members, staff and community to Connect, Create and Contribute!
Journey’s Way will be celebrating the many ways in which older adults make a difference in our community. The Arts & Aging Exhibit from May 3 – 31 will showcase the talent and creativity of artists and crafters of all ages. This year’s exhibit will feature ceramics, drawing, painting, photography, textile arts and other mediums. Everyone is welcome to visit the center and view the exhibit on weekdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The center will also be offering some new workshops in May, including Painting with Acrylics and a music class for beginners, Ukulele from Scratch.
The Center’s craft classes will be “Showing & Selling” their creations in the Lobby.
• Cro-Knit Stitches – Wednesday, May 8 10am – 2pm
• Weaving – Thursday, May 16 10am – 2pm
• Beading – Tuesday, May 21 10am – 2pm
If you are interested in some “food & fun”, the center will be hosting a few special events that are open to the community. Join us on Friday, May 17 for Evening Bingo. Doors open at 5:30 for hot dogs & refreshments and the first game starts at 6:30pm. The Annual Community Dinner on May 30 from 5:30 – 8:00pm, provides the perfect opportunity to invite friends and neighbors to visit the center. Enjoy the delicious food prepared by PTG Caterers and entertainment by “Unforgettable.” Tickets for the dinner “reserved seating only” will go on sale May 1st.
Journey’s Way offers a wide array of programs for personal growth, fitness, nutrition, education, creative expression, volunteering, and resources and information for older adults. There is something for everyone!
