Many individuals struggle with symptoms of anxiety on a daily basis. Anxiety can look many different ways but typically consists of both physical symptoms (e.g., sweating, muscle tension, rapid heartbeat, etc.) and psychological symptoms (e.g., persistent worry, poor concentration, irritability, etc.). In order to manage symptoms of anxiety it can be helpful to do the following:
1. Compile a list of current problems/worries
* Break each problem/worry down into manageable tasks
* Rank the difficulty/importance of each of the tasks
* Tackle the tasks in order
2. Use relaxation techniques
* Deep breathing
* Progressive muscle relaxation
* Listening to music
* Talking with a loved one
* Yoga/meditation
* Sports
3. Simple lifestyle changes
* Having a schedule and sticking to it
* Getting enough sleep
* Exercise
* Adequate nutrition
* Self-care
4. Seeking help
* If these suggestions are not sufficient, getting in touch with a mental health professional could be helpful
